Version history & changelog

Requirements change only through a numbered release — never by silently editing the live text. That is what lets a conformance claim point at an exact version and stay meaningful over time.

When you declare conformance, you declare it against a specific version. A later release never rewrites an earlier one: it supersedes it, with a changelog and — where a requirement is retired — a stated deprecation timeline, so nobody is stranded. The process behind each release is set out on the governance page.

Version 1.0Priority Edition

Current

First public edition of the standard. Establishes the normative baseline every later version is measured against.

  • Defines the five dimensions every agent must attest — Grant, Usage, Audit, Revocation and Data (GUARD).
  • Establishes the four-tier conformance ladder: No GUARD, GUARD 1 Declared, GUARD 2 Enforced, GUARD 3 Provable.
  • Fixes the governing principle: govern before execution, not monitor after the fact.
  • Adopts RFC 2119 language (MUST / SHOULD / MAY) for all normative requirements.
  • Published under the irrevocable, royalty-free, worldwide patent pledge covering the core claims.
How to cite this version

When you reference the standard in a policy, contract, audit report or academic work, cite the exact version so the reference stays unambiguous as the text evolves. Society OS Pty Ltd is the publisher and steward of record.

Change requests & records

Every proposed normative change, and how it was resolved, will be recorded here in the open — so anyone can see what was asked, what was decided, and why. That public record begins once the coalition is constituted and the change-control process it oversees is live.

No change requests yet

Version 1.0 is the founding baseline, so there is nothing to supersede. The first records will appear when the coalition opens the process for proposals. Until then, the way a change will be made is set out on the governance page, and you can raise an early proposal through the Foundation contact form.
